GRAPHIC DESIGN

This inaugural exhibition of the new location of the National Archives in New York City was located in the Rotunda of the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House at One Bowling Green and designed by Roger Westerman Design. “The World’s Port” explored aspects of the Port of New York using documents and photographs from the National Archives. Among the documents featured were the deed of gift for the Statue of Liberty, deck plans of the RMS Titanic, a passenger arrival record listing the first person processed at Ellis Island, architectural designs for the Custom House, slave receipts seized by the Navy during the Civil War, and an indictment for the last person executed in the US for being a pirate.

I drew from motifs and typefaces in the documents to develop a cohesive graphic system and color palette, and executed the graphic production of a complex display of photographs.
